Self Portrait vs "Selfie"

Image
What is a selfie? A selfie is a photograph that someone takes of themselves, normally with a smartphone, webcam, or shared through social media. They are usually taken for self  amusement or self confidence. What is a self-portrait? A self portrait is a portrait that an artist takes or makes of themselves. Is there a difference? If so, what? Selfies are taken for different purposes than self portraits but also for the same reasons. Selfie are taken for personal enjoyment and to show yourself to others the best that you can, thanks to lighting, facial expressions and makeup. Self portraits are taken to show a story or to illustrate themselves how they see themselves. In a way, they can sometimes be the same because they can both be taken to show themselves in a different way than people normally see. What style do you prefer? Why? I prefer selfies because they're easier to take but I think that self portraits would be more fun to take and actually make you think about what you&#

Shutterbug Websites

DIY Photography This websites main purpose seems to be to inform people how to take their own good quality pictures at home or on their phone, unproffesionally. They write about lenses or cameras, for example, that people could use to take great DIY photographs. They also write about their inspirations, reviews about certain photography things, tutorials, news and so much more. I would bookmark this website because it has a lot of had information all clumped into one website so you don't have to spend a lot of time exploring the internet looking for a bunch of handy tips. I recommend this website if you really want to understand the process behind taking a nice picture on a lower budget. I rate this website a 4 because the website has so much information that it gets to the po

My 2017

1. I went to the mountains in Colorado for winter break and I skied and drove a snow mobile. It was so much fun and a great experience. A great end to 2017. My resolutions for 2018 are to not procrastinate and be on time, to take care of myself mentally and physically, to not let people walk all over me and to just have a great year. It's like a fresh start. 3. In 2018, I'm looking forward to passing and exceeding in my classes because I'm planning on doing very well in my classes and not saving everything for the last minute.

Best song: "There's Nothing Holdin' Me Back" -Shawn Mendes Shawn Mendes is a very talented songwriter and singer and this song, just like all of his other songs sounded amazing and the lyrics are meaningful if you actually listen to them. Best Movie: "Coco" I haven't seen most of the other movies on this list but I also chose this one because it was such a sweet movie and relates to many people all around the world and had such a sweet meaning behind it. Most Important News Story: "Donald Trump's Presidency" Donald Trumps presidency was the most talked about and most dreaded situation that happened in 2017. Most people where very surprised when Trump won the election because no one was expecting this vote to actually go through. Most Important Person: "Sean Norton and Jonathon Hunt" These two guys plus another guy who came to the scene later and called the police, jumped in the car and stopped an older guy from k

Favorite Photos of the Year

I like this picture because the angle, the frame, the colors and everything in this picture is visually appealing. I like this picture because it shows the respect that villagers have for he different species and wildlife that they are blessed to have all around them. This elephant died so they offered flowers out of respect. I like this picture because this person basically risked their life to take this picture and managed to hurriedly take a picture that could tell a million different stories.
